How to use the platform
This short guide will help you find your way around the online platform.
If you need support, please contact your trainer via Messages, or email blendedtrainees@gmail.com with a brief description of the issue.
1. Logging in and Dashboard Overview
- Go to www.tefltoulouse.com/login.
- Enter your email and password, then click Log In.
- You’ll arrive at your Member Dashboard – the starting point for everything.
On your dashboard you’ll see:
- Courses – access your blended TEFL course.
- Groups / My Groups – connect with your group’s trainers and other trainees.
- Forums – participate in forum discussions.
- Messages – private messages with trainers or classmates. You can message directly from here or from your Group member list.
- Book a Tutorial – choose a time slot for a tutorial. We’ll tell you more about this as the course progresses.
- Book Teaching Practice – let us know when you’ll be doing your Teaching Practice. We’ll tell you more about this as the course progresses.
- Course Materials – here you’ll find materials that will be useful throughout the course. You’ll also find lesson-specific materials within the individual lessons.
2. Accessing Your Course
- Click Blended TEFL Course under Courses.
- You’ll see the course broken down into weeks, and each week into lessons.
- Only the current week is open – later weeks unlock automatically according to your course schedule. If a week isn’t open yet, you’ll see it listed but locked.
3. Navigating a Lesson Page
Inside each lesson, you’ll find:
- Main video – watch the lesson.
- Materials – handouts and other materials you’ll need to download before watching the video.
- Assignment upload area – where you submit any work required for the lesson (see guidance below).
- Mark Complete button – moves you to the next lesson when ready. Use this after you’ve finished everything on the page.
4. Downloading Lesson Materials
You’ll find these in the Materials tab of the lesson. We suggest keeping everything in clearly named folders on your device – you may need to refer back to these as the course progresses.
5. Uploading Assignments
- If a lesson requires an assignment, you’ll see an area to upload this on the lesson page.
- Choose your file (PDF, Word or Open Office preferred) and click Submit.
- You’ll see a message telling you that the assignment is waiting to be reviewed.
Your trainer will review your work and leave feedback. You can check feedback directly on that lesson page by clicking the Comments icon in the Assignments area.
6. Booking Tutorials
- Go to Book a Tutorial on your dashboard.
- Choose an available slot from the calendar (if you don’t see any, check back later – new slots are added regularly).
- You’ll receive confirmation by email, including your Zoom link. Keep this email for reference.
If you need to reschedule, please let your trainer know as soon as possible.
7. Forums
As the course progresses, we’ll ask you to participate in forum discussions.
- Click Forums in your dashboard.
- Choose the forum for your group or course.
- Click New Discussion to start a topic (use a clear title), or Reply in an existing thread to contribute.
- Tick Notify me of new replies if you’d like to be alerted to responses.
8. Messages, Groups and Support
Messaging your trainer or classmates
- Go to Messages on your dashboard.
- Click New and start typing the name of your trainer or the person you want to message.
- Write your message and click Send.
- You’ll get a notification when someone replies.
Messaging through your Group
- Click the name of your Group under My Groups.
- You’ll see the names of your trainers and other trainees.
- Click the message icon next to someone’s name to send them a message.
Group messages from trainers
Sometimes you’ll receive a “group message”. These are broadcasts or announcements from trainers and can’t be replied to. If you have a question about something in a group message, please message the trainer directly.
8. Need help?
- For course-related questions, contact your trainer via Messages.
- For technical issues, email blendedtrainees@gmail.com with a brief description and a screenshot if possible. Include your device (laptop/phone), browser (Chrome/Safari), and the page URL.
