Entry RequirementsQualifications Required It is in everyone's interest for us not to accept trainees who we feel may not pass the course. Applicants should be native speakers of English - non-native speakers are sometimes accepted as long as they can show that they are bilingual. As the course content is pitched at degree level, applicants must have solid University entrance qualifications (ie A Levels) as a minimum educational requirement, or related professional experience. Applicants should also have reasonable IT skills, as the two projects need to be typed, and materials for lessons downloaded. Trainees do NOT need to speak French to follow the course, as the methodology enables you to teach multilingual groups (eg back in your own country).
Toulouse shop window Workload Commitment The course is a lot of fun, but you will be busy, working about 8 hours a day, Monday to Friday, and sometimes a day or even two of the weekend at home, for the 4 weeks. Trainees will NOT be able to combine the course with any other form of work (or other time consuming) commitment during their month with us. Professional development, (ie displaying an attitude befitting of a teacher during the course) is part of your grade too, so late nights in the bar are not recommended - you will have to wait until after the course!
The Musee d'Augustins This is how a typical day might look:10am - 130pm Input Sessions (you learn about English and about teaching it) LUNCH 1.30 to 2.30 2 30- 330pm you plan your lessons 3 - 4 a trainer reviews your lesson plan, making small changes 5 - 7 teaching practice (you teach one of the 2 hours - and will probably teach 2 to 3 times a week) 7 - 8 teaching practice group feedback
